The Strawberries & Cherries Weekend celebrates the arrival of the first spring crop of fruits, with strawberries and cherries being the star of the show in Bacchus Marsh, and in particular the availability of these delicious fruits available for purchase at the farm gate, or via the extremely popular ‘pick your own’ activities.
Conveniently located within an hour of Melbourne CBD, Bacchus Marsh is accessible by road or rail. Highlights of this massive 2 day event are as follows:
Friday Night 18th November 2016
The massive 3 day event will open on the Friday night (November 18th) in the area known as the ‘Village Green’, next to the RSL, in Main Street.
Bring your family, friends and a picnic rug from 5.00pm
Enjoy a sausage sizzle hosted by the Bacchus Marsh Bowling Club.
Or choose from a great selection of food and coffee vans

Saturday 19th and Sunday 20th
Saturday morning will herald in the opening of a large craft, farmers and makers market complete with roving entertainment, street performances and a large variety of food vans. Situated in the towns main shopping precinct of Main Street, the closure of the road between Young St and Gisborne Roads in 2016, will enhance the safety of the market and increase awareness of the scope of business houses in the retail district. Running from 9am-5pm on both the Saturday and Sunday, the market will give way to a huge music and fireworks spectacular proudly sponsored by the Village Bacchus Marsh Shopping Centre on the Saturday night, supported by the onsite carnival and ticketed dinner being held at the Royal Hotel. Bring your family a rug and your dancing shoes down to the Village Green from 5.00pm and chill out to the DJ and Laser Show.
Enjoy a community sausage sizzle or choose from a great selection of food and coffee vans.
Glow sticks will be available for purchase on the night, dance in the dark or under the event lighting from the SES
No alcohol is permitted at this event.
Village Green Carnival
Enjoy the colour and excitement of a contemporary carnival with a large selection of rides and activities
to suit every member of the family. 5.00pm to 11.30pm
Royal Hotel Fireworks Dinner
$50 per head, 3 course meal set menu. Drinks at bar prices. 7.30pm sit down.
Bookings essential, see ticketed dinner being held at the Royal Hotel.
Then sit back and enjoy the warm night, the music and watch the sky for The Village Bacchus Marsh Shopping Centre Fireworks Spectacular approx. 9.15pm this will be the highlight of the evening and always a breath taking show.
Strawberries and Cherries Trail
The Strawberries & Cherries Trail is another highlight of the weekend, where sponsors are allocated a position on the free event brochure and visitors and locals collect ‘trail stamps’ from all of our participating financial and not for profit sponsors: - including orchards, bakeries, cafes & restaurants, heritage properties, art galleries & retailers and stall holders to name a few participating sponsors to complete the trail. This competition is free to enter and suitable for all ages, with a prize pool of approx. $1000 over 3 prizes.

- Pick your own strawberries – 3 strawberry farms along Avenue of Honour
- Pick your own cherries and stone fruit available – 4 orchards along Avenue of Honour
- Free shuttle buses hop on hop off, on loop, both days

- ‘Have a go’ area between the Public Hall and RSL wherein guests and visitors can participate in a range of sports and recreational pursuits from fencing (swords), ballroom dancing and soccer, through to pilates, karate and belly dancing.

Petstock Doggie Chillout Zone
At Eddie Toole Reserve. The ultimate fur friendly zone for you and man’s best friends, food and drink available for both yourself and your dog, the PETstock Doggie Chillout Zone is the ideal place for your dog to rest, relax or take part in some doggie play activities. There will be a Doggie Health zone, including Pet Furrst Aid course to enrol in (at First Aid Tent)
Marsh Rodders Car Show
The Village Bacchus Marsh Shopping Centre will be hosting a car display in conjunction with Marsh Rodders in the Elms Car park next to the Village Bacchus Marsh Shopping Centre
Carnival rides and entertainment at ticket prices
Buskers competition for the “Best Busker in the West”, run in conjunction with Performing Arts Headquarters.
Free entertainment, music and roving performing including the Brandragon Morris Dancers, who were a massive hit last year and back by popular demand.

Strawberries and Cherries Raffle
An Epicurean Experience with a first prize to the value of $2000, second prize $500 and third prize $250

For a full day, you and 3 lucky guests will be able to indulge in a chauffeur driven epicurean experience of the Bacchus Marsh region.
Traveling in a luxury vintage Jaguar car, you will delight in a series of meet and greets with the areas fruit and vegetable producers and enjoy a private ‘pick your own’ experience at a group of fresh food growers, depending on seasonal availability on collection of your prize.
For lunch you will be treated to a gourmet picnic lunch in the picturesque surrounds at one of our beautiful fresh food producers properties, with all of the food and wine supplied by local growers and farmers.
The afternoon can be spent exploring the history of the area or just ask the driver to drop you for a bit of retail therapy in the town centre.
You and your guests will finally be returned to your pick up point where, to commemorate the occasion, each of you will be given your very own boutique hamper.
Tickets will be made available ONLINE, at the information tent during the Strawberries and Cherries Festival. At a cost of $5 per ticket or 5 for $20. The random prize draw will take place at 2pm on December 17 at The Village Bacchus Marsh Shopping Centre, and no correspondence will be entered into. Prize winners will be notified by telephone and email where it has been provided. First prize cannot be taken on a Saturday and must be redeemed within 12 months of the draw taking place.
